The Mud Puddle Mild Brown Ale Beer Kit offers a smooth, flavorful brewing experience that brings the charm of an English-style brown ale to your home. With its low 3.5% ABV, this beer is perfect for easy drinking without overwhelming your senses. Brewed using a balanced combination of high-quality malts and hops, it offers a deep, rich malt profile that’s light enough for an enjoyable session beer.
The heart of the Mud Puddle Mild Brown Ale’s flavor comes from its carefully selected base malts: 6 lbs of Brewers 2-Row Malt and 1 lb of Maris Otter Malt. These malts lay a smooth foundation, providing gentle bread-like qualities and a touch of sweetness. The addition of specialty malts, including 0.5 lb of Caramel Malt 60L and 0.5 lb of Chocolate Malt 350L, delivers layers of deep caramel and toasty flavors, complemented by subtle chocolate notes.
The beer’s mild bitterness comes from 1 oz of East Kent Goldings hops, which offer just a light, earthy presence. With only 18 IBUs, this brew is not overly hoppy, allowing the malt profile to shine through while maintaining a touch of balance. The yeast, SafAle S-04, contributes to the smooth mouthfeel and adds a clean fermentation character that lets the malts speak for themselves.
With an SRM of 18, Mud Puddle Mild Brown Ale has a rich amber-brown color, inviting you to take a sip and enjoy its full malt complexity. It’s a great beer for those who love classic brown ales and are looking for something easy to drink. Whether you're enjoying it after a long day or sharing a pint with friends, this kit offers a rewarding brewing experience and a delicious beer that’s perfect for any occasion.
