White Labs

White Labs is one of the most recognized names in brewing yeast, known for its extensive selection of high quality liquid beer yeast and its focus on fermentation science, yeast health, and quality control. Founded in San Diego in 1995 by biochemist Chris White, White Labs helped make pitchable liquid yeast widely accessible to homebrewers and has grown to serve craft and professional breweries around the world. Today, the White Labs yeast lineup includes clean American and English ale yeast, traditional lager yeast, expressive Belgian and wheat beer strains, and specialty cultures for a wide range of beer styles. Its well known WLP001 California Ale Yeast® is a versatile choice for IPAs, Pale Ales, Stouts, Porters, and many other American ales, while the broader catalog gives brewers numerous options for matching yeast character to a specific recipe.

What makes White Labs brewing yeast distinctive is the combination of a large strain library, extensive laboratory testing, and specialized liquid yeast propagation and packaging technology. Its PurePitch® Next Generation system is designed to provide healthy, consistent yeast while simplifying pitching for both home and professional brewers. For beginning homebrewers, clearly documented characteristics such as attenuation, flocculation, fermentation temperature, alcohol tolerance, and recommended beer styles make it easier to choose the right homebrewing yeast for a recipe. Experienced brewers can use those same characteristics to fine tune ester and phenol production, attenuation, mouthfeel, fermentation performance, and overall flavor. Whether you need ale yeast for an IPA, lager yeast for a crisp Pilsner, Belgian yeast for an expressive Tripel, or specialty brewing yeast for a more adventurous recipe, White Labs offers cultures for both traditional and modern brewing.

Polar Packs are recommended to ensure yeast stays cold during shipping.

*Clarity Ferm from White Labs is also available as an add on for all beer yeasts. When added at the time of pitching your yeast it can reduce gluten levels to below 10ppm. Perfect for people with gluten sensitivity and a great alternative to sorghum. This does not alter the aroma or flavor of the beer. It also is effective at preventing chill haze in your end product.
