Aging Guidelines for This Wine Kit

Recommended aging: 1 to 3 months after bottling. This wine is designed for early enjoyment, with fresh fruit flavors and an approachable style. A short aging period helps its flavors settle together. Extended cellaring can gradually diminish its bright fruit and delicate aromas, so enjoy it once it tastes balanced.

Overall rating: 4.9 / 5 from 7 reviews.

Reviews

The Viognier wine is quite

"The Viognier wine is quite good and fun to make. I let it clarify longer than suggested, and it tastes better than previous batches. I wish the price and shipping was a little more reasonable."

— William B. (4/5)

A variety that should be wider known

"I make this once a year in late winter or early spring. I like using D-47 yeast instead of the EC-1118 included in the box because my basement is under 60 degrees at that time. No one can guess what it is but everyone likes it."

— Barbara G. (5/5)

Terrific

"This is one of our favorite white wines."

Great Viognier Kit!

"My wife's favorite! This Viognier kit has been a steady, reliable hit for 5 years - I've made it seven times, and don't see the end of our delight in it. Thanks for being a fantastic supplier!"

Return customer

"I’ve made several batches and it always turns out great. It’s a favorite with my wine tasting club."

Exceptional Viognier!!!!

"I made this wine using Lalvin QA23 yeast and allowed it to age at winter room temp (68F) for 6 weeks. Fermentation took an honest 3 weeks. Clarification took and honest 3 weeks, and the last week was in the garage at 35 - 40 F. Very smooth and surprisingly excellent on bottling day! The nose has wonderful aromas of kiwi and pear! Mouthfeel is superb for a white. Overall flavor profile is simple, making this an "easy drinking" wine, but one that I would not hesitate to serve to persons with the most discriminating palates! Pairings include: toasted WW bread with melted fontina cheese, turkey-ginger soup, rosemary/parmesan foccassia, and humble fresh apple slices and cheddar. Wonderful Viognier! You will not be disappointed!"
