Store and pickup
What are Label Peelers store hours and phone?
636 S Walnut St, Ravenna, OH 44266. Phone (607) 357-8981. Monday through Friday 10am to 7pm, Saturday 11am to 4pm, closed Sunday.
Can I walk in and shop?
No. We do pickup for online orders. This is not a walk-in shop.
When can I pick up my order?
When the order is actually Awaiting Pickup, not while we are still picking it. If you do not have an order number, call (607) 357-8981 with your name, phone, or email.
What is the Store Pickup coupon?
It zeros shipping for local pickup. Local is Northeast Ohio ZIPs 440 through 447. Far away is either a real drive to Ravenna or the wrong coupon. Do not put the store street with a distant city or ZIP.
I wrote pick up myself and still got charged shipping.
A comment is not Store Pickup. Pickup versus ship is set on the order. If freight was quoted, it ships unless Store Pickup is applied.
Can I pick up if I am not local?
Yes if you will drive to Ravenna. Fresh grapes and juices cannot ship.
The website failed and I ordered by phone.
We take phone orders when checkout fails. Call (607) 357-8981 during hours.
Shipping
Do you offer free shipping?
No. Freight is quoted on the order.
My tracking has not moved.
For lost or long-delayed UPS we reship rather than wait forever. Contact us with the order number.
I have one tracking number. Is that the whole order?
Not always. We split shipments. One tracking number is not all boxes.
FedEx bounced my package.
Bad addresses and commercial receiving happen, including hulls and long boxes. Put loading-dock notes on the order.
My FWK juice or concentrate bag swelled or started fermenting in summer.
Dump it. Do not ship it back. We reship that SKU only. Refrigerate or freeze on arrival in warm months.
Do you ship yeast with ice packs?
In warm months, yes. Refrigerate yeast on arrival.
Grapes, juice, and FWK
Can you ship fresh grapes or juice?
No. In-store pickup only. They are perishable. Keep them cold and crush or pitch soon. Harvest is seasonal. We do not give restock dates we do not have.
What is in an FWK Winery Series pail?
Juice plus sulfites only. Yeast, nutrient, chemicals, and skins are optional add packs, not in the pail.
Do FWK Artisan, Forte, or Novello include skins?
Only if that SKU’s product page says so. We do not promise skins on Winery Series or on a labels SKU.
I ordered ART LAB / artisan labels. Where is the juice?
That SKU is labels, not the juice bucket. Juice or kit is a separate product.
Is elderberry a bladder or a pail?
Some fruit products ship in a pail, not a bladder. Trust that SKU’s page and the box.
Does a 1-gallon, LD Carlson concentrate, or fruit wine base include yeast?
No. Those need yeast and usually nutrient. Kit yeast on another line does not cover a separate fruit base.
Do you carry Carmenere?
Yes. Reserve Chilean Carmenere, also in some LE blends. Check the live product page for the SKU.
Kits
What is in my kit?
What that SKU’s product page lists. SKU is the lock. We do not invent extra malt, yeast, skins, or adjuncts, and we do not treat included items as required add-ons.
Are LE wine kits in stock to ship tomorrow?
Often they are preorder with a later ship window (for example LE26). Skins only if that SKU’s page says so.
All-grain vs extract: crush or steep?
All-grain: comment if you do not want grain crushed. Extract: grains are for steeping, not a mash.
Do beer kits include bottle labels?
Not always. Pumpkin Spice Porter includes none. 22 oz beer-kit labels are sold separately.
My old wine kit packets dried out.
We replace dried fining packets (Kieselsol and the like). Contact us with the order and SKU.
Is a wine kit drinkable in 14 days?
No. Classic kits are about 4 to 6 weeks of process, then drink months later. Some styles take 1 to 3 years. Beer: brew, then bottle weeks later.
Why is a seasonal kit out of stock?
Pumpkin, harvest juice, and grapes go out of stock. We do not give restock dates we do not have.
Yeast and chemicals
Should I buy yeast by the brick or dozen as a beginner?
Those are restock quantities. Buy the yeast the recipe or kit page calls for.
Are Campden, metabisulfite, sorbate, kieselsol, or chitosan missing from my juice pail?
Those are additives. They are not missing from a Winery Series pail unless that SKU’s page lists them.

How do I order custom labels?

Getting started (wine)
I’m new. Wine kit, FWK juice, or fresh grapes for a first batch?
Start with a wine kit. The instructions and additive packets are on that kit’s timeline. FWK Winery Series is juice plus sulfites only; yeast, nutrient, chemicals, and skins are optional add packs, not in the pail. Fresh grapes are seasonal, pickup only in Ravenna, and you crush and pitch soon. Do not treat grapes or juice as shippable.
What equipment do I need besides the wine kit?
The kit is ingredients, not a full cellar. Typical extras: primary fermenter, carboy, airlock and bung, siphon, hydrometer, spoons or paddle, sanitizer, and later bottles plus corks and a corker. Buy only what that SKU’s page does not already list. What’s in the box is the live product page.
How much wine does a typical kit make?
Most table wine kits are about 6 gallons (about 30 wine bottles). Some are 1 gallon or other sizes. Trust the size on that SKU’s page. Do not assume every kit is 6 gallons.
How long until I bottle, and how long until it drinks well?
Classic wine kits are about 4–6 weeks to process, then months before they drink well. Some styles want 1–3 years. It is not drinkable in 14 days. Follow that kit’s instruction sheet for rack and bottle days, not a chatbot summary.
Primary vs secondary fermentation?
Primary is the vigorous ferment in a bucket or wide fermenter. Secondary is after you rack off the heavy sediment into a carboy with little headspace. Timing is on the kit sheet. Do not skip racking if the kit calls for it.
When do I rack?
Rack when the kit says, usually after primary slows and yeast has settled. Siphon the wine off the sediment. Do not dump and splash. Leave heavy lees behind.
What temperature should wine ferment at?
Follow the kit sheet. Many kits like a steady room around the high 60s to low 70s °F. Too cold can stall. Too hot can make off flavors. Keep it out of sun and away from vents.
What is a hydrometer for?
It measures specific gravity so you can see if fermentation started, is stuck, or is finished. Starting and finishing numbers are on the kit sheet when they are listed. Do not bottle still-fermenting wine.
Why is my wine still cloudy?
Time, temperature, and the kit’s fining packets. Use the packets that came with that SKU, on that SKU’s schedule. We replace dried fining packets; contact us with the order and SKU. Do not assume extra kieselsol or chitosan belong in an FWK juice pail.
When do I add sulfite and sorbate?
When that kit’s sheet says to stabilize, usually before back-sweetening. They are not missing from an FWK Winery Series pail unless that SKU’s page lists them. Do not skip stabilization if you are sweetening, or fermentation can restart in the bottle.
How do I degas wine?
Follow the kit. Stir or shake per the sheet until excess CO2 is gone, before fining and bottling. Wine that is still gassy can stay cloudy and push corks.
Can I add extra fruit, oak, or skins to a kit?
Only if that SKU’s page or the kit instructions include them. Skins, oak, and fruit are not in a Winery Series pail unless the page says so. Extra packs are separate products.
Do I need a corker?
Most 750 ml wine bottles take corks and a corker. Some people use screw-cap bottles. Check what you actually bought. Corks and a corker are usually not inside the kit box.
Fermentation never started. What now?
Check temperature, that yeast was pitched, and gravity. Yeast that sat hot in shipping should be refrigerated on arrival; in warm months we ship yeast with ice packs. Do not invent a yeast strain. Contact us with the order and SKU if the kit yeast failed.
Can I drink it out of the fermenter?
You can taste a sample. It is not finished wine. Kit wine needs the full process, then time in the bottle.
Getting started (beer)
I’m new. Extract kit or all-grain?
Start with extract (or a small 1-gallon kit). Extract kits steep grains; they are not a mash. All-grain needs a mash and more equipment. Say so in the order comments if you do not want all-grain crushed.
What equipment do I need besides the beer kit?
The kit is ingredients. Typical extras: brew kettle, fermenter, airlock, siphon, hydrometer, sanitizer, and bottles or a keg plus priming sugar if you bottle. What’s in the box is that SKU’s page. Do not assume kettle, bottles, or labels are in the kit.
How much beer does a typical kit make?
Many kits are about 5 gallons. We also sell 1-gallon kits. Trust the size on that SKU’s page.
What temperature should beer ferment at?
Follow the yeast and the kit page. Many ales like the mid 60s °F. Lagers need colder. Too warm makes off flavors. Too cold can stall.
The airlock is not bubbling. Is it ruined?
Not always. A sealed lid can hold pressure without a lively bubble. Check gravity. If gravity is dropping, it is fermenting. A loose lid can leak around the airlock so you see nothing.
When is fermentation done?
When gravity is stable across a few days and in the finish range the kit lists. Do not bottle on airlock silence alone. Bottling too soon can make bottle bombs.
What is priming sugar?
The sugar you add at bottling so the beer carbonates in the bottle. Use the amount the kit or priming calculator calls for. Too much can over-carb or burst bottles. Kegging uses a different carbonation method.
How long until beer is drinkable?
Brew, wait for fermentation to finish, then bottle and condition, often about 2–3 weeks in the bottle. Some beers want longer. It is faster than wine, not instant.
Should I add extra hops or yeast to a kit?
Not for a first batch unless that SKU’s page says to. Extra hops, yeast, and adjuncts are optional add-ons, not missing kit parts. Do not treat chatbot extras as required.
Can I use tap water?
Often yes if it tastes fine. If your water is heavily chlorinated, a Campden tablet in the water (not as a substitute for kit chemistry) can help. Do not overthink water on a first extract kit.
What is a blow-off?
A hose from the fermenter into sanitizer so a vigorous ferment does not clog the airlock and blow the lid. Useful on some ales in warm rooms. Keep the fermenter on a washable surface.
Sanitation and safety
How important is sanitizing?
It is the main way batches fail. Clean first, then sanitize anything that touches cooled wort or wine. Follow the sanitizer directions. Rinse only if that sanitizer requires it.
Can bottles explode?
Wine: do not bottle before it is done and, if you sweeten, after you stabilize. Beer: do not bottle before gravity is stable, and do not over-prime. Store bottles somewhere that can handle a mess.
Seasonal (late August 2026)
When is grape and juice season?
Harvest is seasonal. Early harvest first, then mid-to-late September California juice preorders. Fresh grapes and juices are pickup only in Ravenna. Keep them cold and crush or pitch soon. We do not promise restock dates we do not have.
Why is a pumpkin or other seasonal beer kit gone?
Seasonal kits go out of stock when the season ends. We do not promise a restock date. Check the live page; some seasonal SKUs are hidden or purchasing-disabled.
