Ingredients
- 6 lbs Dark Dry Malt Extract
- 1 lb Caramel/Crystal Malt (60L)
- 1 lb Chocolate Malt
- 1 lb Roasted Barley
- 1 oz Centennial Hops (Bittering)
- 1 oz Cascade Hops (Flavor)
- 1 oz Willamette Hops (Aroma)
- 1 Yeast Energizer / Irish Moss Combo Packet
- 4 oz Peanut Butter Flavoring
- 1 packet of Safale US-05 Dry Yeast
Instructions
1. Begin by heating 4 gallons of water to 155°F. Remove from heat.
2. Once the water is heated, using the grain bag add the crushed grains and steep for 25-30 mins.
3. After 25-30 minutes, remove the grains and add the dry malt extract. Stir until dissolved.
4. Bring the wort to a boil and add the Centennial hops.
5. Boil for 60 minutes, adding the Cascade hops at the 45 minute mark and the Willamette hops at the 55 minute mark.
6. Add the yeast energizer / irish moss combo packet at the last 15 minutes of the boil.
7. After the boil is complete, cool the wort to 70°F and transfer to a fermenter. Top up with water to 5 gallons.
8. Pitch the yeast and aerate the wort.
9. Ferment at 68°F for 7-10 days.
10. After fermentation is complete, add the Peanut Butter Flavoring with priming sugar and bottle.
11. Allow the beer to condition for 2-3 weeks before serving.
