"It must be Italian!" The Fra-Gee-Lay Italian Pilsner Beer Kit brings the clean, crisp flavor of an Italian pilsner right to your home brewing setup. Designed for brewers of all skill levels, this kit features a balanced malt profile and delicate hop character that defines this classic lager style. The 6 lbs of Pilsner Dry Malt Extract creates a smooth, cracker-like malt foundation, while the addition of 0.5 lb of Carapils Malt enhances body and mouthfeel, giving the beer a satisfying, well-rounded quality.
The hop profile is what truly sets this pilsner apart. A blend of Perle, Tettnang, and Hallertau hops are used at various stages of the boil, delivering a floral and herbal bitterness that complements the malt sweetness. The dry hop addition of Hallertau brings out a refreshing crispness, ensuring a clean and dry finish typical of European lagers.
The yeast provided, SafLager W-34/70, is perfect for achieving the smooth fermentation needed for this lager. The result is a beer with bright golden clarity and a flavor profile that's light, refreshing, and ideal for sipping. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or just enjoying a well-crafted beer at the end of a long day, this Italian pilsner is sure to elevate your brewing experience.
