Description
Your Cranberry Coast IPA gives you a vibrant blend of tart cranberry and bold citrus hop character. The 6 lbs of Briess Golden Light Dry Malt Extract forms a clean malty base while the Caramel/Crystal Malt 20L adds subtle sweetness. Amarillo hops provide balanced bitterness, Simcoe contributes pine and earthy notes, and Citra delivers bright citrus aroma. Your US-05 American Ale Yeast ferments cleanly to let the fruit and hops shine, and the cranberry puree you add brings a refreshing tart finish.

A Great Beer for the Fall Harvest
"This is a really good recipe, but I made a couple changes. I used a 4 oz bottle of "Brewers Best" Natural Cranberry Flavoring instead of puree. I also added a pound of corn sugar since I wanted a little higher ABV. When I calculated the OG from the provided extracts, my figures were lower than the OG shown on the description. (Of course, I didn't take into account sugar from the puree. ) Fermentation went perfectly and finished up in about 12 days. I bottled and two weeks later tasted it. This beer is fantastic! You get a fresh whiff of cranberry when you open the bottle, then you can taste and smell cranberry as it hits your lips - but its NOT overly fruity. As it flows over your tongue, it evolves into a mellow, slightly piney, balanced hop/malt flavor, finishing dry with a gentle lingering taste of the hops. It is dry and refreshing, and great really cold! It's perfect for the change of season from Summer into Fall."
