Featuring 6 lbs. of Pale Ale Dry Malt Extract, 8 oz. of Munich Malt and 8 oz. of Carapils Malt, 4 oz. of Honey Malt, 1 oz. of Citra Hops, 1 oz. of Amarillo Hops and 1 oz. of Mosaic Hops, this kit is sure to deliver a complex and refreshing flavor. The Yeast Energizer and Irish Moss Combo Packet and the Dry Yeast Packet (New England) will help to create a beer with a beautiful and smooth texture. Ingredients
- 6 lbs. Pale Ale Dry Malt Extract
- 8 oz. Munich Malt
- 8 oz. Carapils Malt
- 4 oz. Honey Malt
- 1 oz. Citra Hops
- 1 oz. Amarillo Hops
- 1 oz. Mosaic Hops
- Yeast Energizer / Irish Moss Combo Packet
- Dry Yeast Packet (New England)
Hop Schedule
- 60 minutes: 1 oz. Citra (Bittering)
- 20 minutes: 1 oz. Amarillo (Flavor)
- 5 minutes: 1 oz. Mosaic (Aroma)
Instructions
1. Start by bringing 2-3 gallons of water to 155°F and turn off heat.
2. Add Munich, Carapils, and Honey malt into muslin grain bag and steep in water for 30 minutes.
3. After 30 minutes remove grain bag and discard. Add the 6 lbs. of Pale Ale Dry Malt Extract and stir until fully dissolved.
4. Bring to boil add the Citra hops and set timer for 60 minutes.
5. At the 20 minute mark, add the Amarillo hops.
6. With 15 minutes remaining, add the Yeast Energizer / Irish moss Combo Packet.
7. At 5 minutes remaining, add the Mosaic hops. Complete boil and turn off the heat.
8. Cool the wort to 70°F and transfer wort to a sanitized fermenter. Top up to 5 gallons with cool water and pitch yeast.
9. Allow to ferment at 68°F for 2 weeks or until fermentation is complete.
10. Once fermentation is complete bottle or keg with priming sugar and allow two weeks to condition. Enjoy!
