However, we think these are your best bet for your first try. We recommend Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot for a dry red, Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc for a dry white and Moscato, Riesling or White Zinfandel if you like semi-sweet or sweet wine. These varietals are the easiest to make with the highest likelihood for good results. The proof is in your glass. If you like your first batch, you are much more likely to make a second batch.
