El Cid Ribera-Style Red Blend Wine Kit, Forte is a bold, Tempranillo-dominant red blend inspired by the powerful wines of Spain’s Ribera del Duero region. A Ribera-style red is known for depth, structure, dark fruit, savory complexity, confident oak expression, and a firm, dry finish. Compared with softer, fruitier red blends, this style leans darker, more serious, and more cellar-driven, with earthy spice, leather, tobacco, and muscular tannin.

Your Forte wine kit combines Tempranillo, Petite Sirah, and Syrah to create a big-bodied Spanish-style red. Tempranillo provides the core identity, bringing dark cherry, plum, tobacco, leather, and dried herb character. Petite Sirah adds deep color, dense texture, blackberry richness, and powerful tannin. Syrah contributes black pepper, smoke, savory spice, and brooding depth, complementing the wine’s coffee, cocoa, and leather tones.

El Cid is FWK’s first “Super Forte” wine kit, created for a fuller, more powerful finished wine at 14% ABV. To support its bold Ribera-inspired style, this kit uses an elevated extraction format with 6 lbs of real grape skins, increased from the standard Forte format of 4 lbs, along with 8 oz of grape seeds. The added real grape skins help build deeper color, greater density, firmer structure, and a more rustic, cellar-style mouthfeel, while the grape seeds contribute the tannin and grip needed for a dark, bold, age-worthy red.
