Glass or plastic? This version comes with a 5 gallon glass carboy and the Drilled Universal Carboy Bung that fits its neck. Glass lets in no oxygen at all and never scratches or holds odors, so it is the best choice if you plan to age your mead for many months. It is heavier and needs careful handling: carry it full only with a carboy handle or carrier, never by the neck. Want something lighter and less expensive?
