Pine and resin hops bring forest, sap, and sticky bitterness that back classic West Coast IPA, American pale ale, and assertive American bittering additions.
Chinook, Columbus, Simcoe, Cascade, Centennial, Nugget, Warrior, Northern Brewer, and related high-oil American varieties are the usual tools here. Use early for firm bitterness or late for piney aroma.
