Lalvin ICD D-47 active dried yeast is recommended for use in dry white varieties and blush wines. This strain is a isolated from Côtes du Rhône from Suze-la-Rousse for robust Chardonnays. Ripe and spicy aromas with tropical and citrus notes develop from extended contact with the lees. ICD D47 enhances fruit flavor. ICD D47 also adds a silky mouthfeel and a longer taste profile. A good choice for Mead as well, just be sure to add yeast nutrient to supplement this strain.

D47 Yeast

"I use this yeast to ferment Diamond, Cayuga White, Delaware and Seyval juice. It has a slow even fermentation and tends to hold the flavor of the juice best. i have used this brand for 7 years and in my opinion it is the best for the type of white wines i make."
